Wavefront Research, Inc. was incorporated in 1993 and has been dedicated to developing and commercializing novel optical technologies to solve DoD and commercial (non-DoD) challenges. Among other WRI technologies, WRI designs and fabricates custom hyperspectral imagers as stand-alone units or as subsystems for prime system and platform integration addressing a wide range of spatial and spectral needs. In 2019, WRI’s compact high performance full-spectrum hyperspectral imagers were featured as an SBIR success story.

WRI is located in a 3-floor, 38,000 sq. ft. research and production facility at 1540 Main Street in Northampton, Pennsylvania. This facility includes optical, mechanical, and electronics labs, clean room facilities for optical assembly and FPA integration, as well as machining, prototyping, and assembly areas. Included in the WRI facility is specialized equipment for the alignment and characterization of hyperspectral sensors that span the VNIR-SWIR, MWIR and LWIR spectral bands.
